Touring in Beijing

We have had an amazing and exhausting day. We all slept fairly well last night. Lily and Wes are out now so I will try to post quickly and join them as we are all so tired. Today was a day of touring in Beijing. We are traveling with many families that are also adopting children with special needs. Lily has found two playmates, Madison and Caroline. They are all 4 ½ years old and bonded very quickly today. They have been so cute to watch. We spent our morning at Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. We had a nice lunch and then went on a tour of a silk factory…amazing. The truly amazing thing is that I did not purchase anything today but water!!!! We then went on a Rickshaw ride through the Hutong area of Beijing and ended up at the home of a local family to see what life can be like here. One of the last stops was an acrobatic show. Lily was enthralled until she just couldn’t take it anymore and passed out in Wes’ arms. She slept through dinner (I could have joined her but it thought it a tad impolite)! She is still sleeping now. I’ll try to post a few pictures if the connection is not too slow. We tour some more tomorrow. We have talked all day with other families about our son. We are so ready to just bring him home! Thanks for all of the warm wishes and keep them coming. They mean so much to us!

The countdown to the Olympics is behind us. The numbers have changed alot since we were here to adopt Lily.
